Educational Ministries

The educational ministries of Tecate Mission International exist to prepare the next generation of leaders and Christian workers for Mexico, Latin America and the world. This includes the following:The Bible Institute of Tecate Mission is strategically located close to the international border in the city of Tecate, Baja California, Mexico. It was founded in 1993 for the purpose of training full-time Christian workers for ministry in Mexico and Latin America. The resident students can choose from a variety of programs which focus the training on their chosen field of ministry. These areas include pastoral training, children’s ministries, educational ministries, youth ministries, and cross-cultural missions.

• Residence Program - The residence program is designed for those who are able to devote full-time study in a residential setting. Dormitories (as well as apartments for married students with small families) and meals are supplied. Programs range from a one-year certificate up to an accredited bachelor’s degree. The resident program is comprehensive, including both classroom and practical training experiences. (The institute campus features a local church where many can utilize their training on a daily basis).
• Extension / Distance Learning Program - The extension program is designed for those who are not able to study full-time in a residential setting. This program is not via correspondence, but rather is formatted to be done in a small-group setting within a local church. Students are required to attend local classes or study-groups as they work though their textbooks, which are auto-didactical in nature. They work toward a 15-unit certificate with various areas of focus, all of which are ministry related, and they can receive up to the two-year diploma.
• Module program - The module program is a companion of the extension program. These are intensive courses of 48 hours taught in six to eight weeks by qualified professors who travel to strategic locations in Mexico and stay for the duration of the course. This is especially beneficial to those who are already engaged in a ministry to the degree that leaving their environment would be difficult.
